PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seedling transplanter which can transplant seedlings in good planting postures so that a seedling planter does not forward fall planted seedlings as much as possible, when the vertically long seedlings such as Welch onion seedlings are planted in narrow spaces between the seedlings. SOLUTION: The travel locus ST of the seedling planter 4 with respect to a machine frame and the forward travel velocity (v) of the machine frame on its working travel are set so that the working travel locus MT of the lower end of the seedling planter 4 is lowered from a lowering-starting point to the lowering final point placed on the rearward side of the machine frame on a locus swollen on the backward side of the machine frame in the downward locus (d) and then lifted from the lifting-starting point to a lifting final point placed on the forward side of the machine frame on a locus swollen on the backward side of the machine frame in the upward locus (u). The vertical length of the inner seedling-receiving portion of the seedling planter 4 is more enlarged than the vertical length of the travel locus ST of the seedling planter 4.
