<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pointer position control system having optimal operability and enabling a user to reduce, through minimal adjustments, the rate at which a pointing device mounted to a small terminal malfunctions when depressed. <P>SOLUTION: In the pointer position control system, a parameter for adjusting both the idle time from the preset start of depression to the input of a determination signal and the amount of horizontal movement at the time of depression, and a history of movement of a pointer display position, are stored in a storage part 30. When the time required from detection of horizontal movement to the input of the determination signal is shorter than preset idle time, a process is carried out assuming that the operation of determining the pointer display position at the time of detection of horizontal movement has been carried out. When the time required is longer than the idle time, the pointer display position at the time, that is, the idle time before the time of input of the determination signal is read from the history of movement of the pointer display position and the process is carried out assuming that the operation of determining that pointer display position has been carried out. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
