<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress transfer delay of a repeating processing in a broad Ethernet (R) network even if a MAC frame with long frame length exists. <P>SOLUTION: In an edge device constituting the broad Ethernet (R) network, a division frame of M bytes (N>M) is created on the long MAC frame having not less than N bytes. Maximum frame length of the MAC frame transferred in the network is limited. Thus, transfer delay with respect to the other MAC frame in the network can be eliminated. When the division MAC frame is transferred from inside the network to an outer part, the division frames are coupled, and they are returned to the original MAC frame. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
