摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fail-safe control mechanism capable of performing adequate fail-safe control according to the actual traveling circumstance by varying the threshold and the abnormality determination time according to the condition. SOLUTION: A control means C comprises an output unit 11 to identify the assist signal to be output to an assist means and an abnormality detection unit 12 to determine abnormality. The abnormality detection unit 12 stores the table T to identify the degree of risk based on the signals from a steering torque sensor 9 and a vehicle speed sensor 10, sets the threshold and the abnormality determination time to determine whether or not abnormality is present according to the degree of risk, calculates the difference between the assist signal identified by the output unit 11 and the signal fed back to the control means C, and determines that abnormality is present when the absolute value of the difference exceeds the threshold continuously over the abnormality determination time.
