<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of optimizing component mounting sequence, component mounting device, program for executing the method, and recording medium in which records the program is recorded, in component mounting apparatus that can hold a plurality of components and has a component holding head having a component recognition camera. <P>SOLUTION: A device for optimizing a component mounting sequence 300 is provided, and conveyance time for each of components is compared to recognition time required for recognition of each of the components, and a mounting sequence of each component is determined according to the comparison result.
