<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent light distribution irregularity from being generated on a road surface in front of a vehicle after restraining the occurrence of road surface-reflected light causing glare to be given to an oncoming driver or the like in running in the rain, in a vehicular headlight composed so as to form a light distribution pattern having a cut-off line at an upper end by a projector type lamp unit. <P>SOLUTION: This vehicular headlamp is so structured as to be provided, between a projection lens 28 and a reflector 24, with a first shade 32 for forming the cut-off line as a shade for shading a part of reflected light from a reflector 24, and a second shade 34 for forming a dark part at a lower end center part of the light distribution pattern. The second shade 34 is so structured as to be movable to take a shading position and a shading release position. At that time, the shade position is set at a position separated at a predetermined distance on the front side from a rear-side focus position F of the projection lens 28. Thus, the contour of the dark part formed at the lower end center part of the light distribution pattern is blurred to prevent the occurrence of light distribution irregularity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
