PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection film (cured film) which has a particularly high hardness, heat resistance, flame retardance, and a low coefficient of thermal expansion, and is excellent in low permittivity. SOLUTION: The resin composition for a protection coating is obtained by dispersing a metal oxide or a metal hydroxide (B) into an epoxy group-containing silane modified resin (A) so that the average particle diameter (d50) becomes 200 nm or less, wherein the resin (A) is obtained by reacting at least one selected from the group consisting of a polyamic acid (a) and a polyamideimide resin (b) having a carboxylic group and/or an acid anhydride group at the terminal of the molecule with a partial condensation product (c) of an epoxy group-containing alkoxysilane.
