PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a raw material feeder capable of reliably feeding out glass cartridges. SOLUTION: The raw material feeder is equipped with: a nearly cylindrical feeder main body 11 whose lower end part is communicated to the inside of a glass melting furnace; and a feeding pipe 14 which horizontally penetrates the side wall part of the feeder main body 11 so that its tip end part is located inside the feeder main body 11 and through which cartridges 17 are fed sequentially from the base end side to the tip end side. In the raw material feeder, a guide member 18 is provided in the feeder main body 11, which faces the tip end of the feeding pipe 14 and in which an inclined face 19 is formed such that it gradually deviates from the center of the feeder main body 11 from the upper end toward the lower end. When the front end of the cartridge 17 sticks on the inclined face 19 of the guide member 18, a part close to the rear end of the cartridge 17 is inclined downward, and pushed downward by the front end of a subsequent cartridge 17, and accordingly the cartridge falls from the inclined face 19 to which the cartridge has stuck.
