PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply perform the work for conveying a heavy object by stairs continuous across an intermediate space such as a landing and a building floor. SOLUTION: A first conveyance rail 1 and a second conveyance rail 2 are installed on stairs 101 on a lower story side and stairs 102 on an upper story side, respectively, across an intermediate space 100. An intermediate rail 5 is installed at a position between the first and second conveyance rails 1 and 2 in the intermediate space 100. A first carrier 3 moving along the first conveyance rail 1 and a second carrier 4 moving along the second conveyance rail 2 have a structure capable of supporting a top plate 6, respectively. When the first carrier 3 and the second carrier 4 are positioned on an intermediate floor 100, respectively, the top plate 6 moves between the first carrier 3 and the second carrier 4 through the intermediate rail 5.
