PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sole of an exercise shoe which is very suitable for garden strolling type walking and excellent in the promotion of metabolism and the functional recovery and furthermore, in the diet effect. SOLUTION: The sole of the exercise shoe has a front ground contact surface 3 and a rear ground contact surface 4 higher than the surface 2 of the sole and the front ground contact surface 3 is higher than the rear ground contact surface 4 while at least a part of both the ground contact surfaces contact the ground surface simultaneously. Furthermore, the surface 2 of the sole at least ahead of the front ground contact surface 3 have the outer sole surfaces A<SB>2</SB>and B<SB>2</SB>from the longitudinal center line of the soles formed higher than the inner sole surfaces A<SB>1</SB>and B<SB>1</SB>. At least either the front ground contact surface 3 or the rear ground contact surface 4 is flat or curved. The surface 2 of the sole (surfaces A and B) ahead of the front ground surface 3 is made at an angle with the ground surface.
