It is possible to perform authentication of a child station by a simple configuration in a small-size radio LAN system. A radio communication authentication device (1) periodically counts up a system timer value (1a) where an arbitrary value is set in advance (step S1). A radio communication device (2) sets a system timer value (2a) of the radio communication device (2) in accordance with the system timer value (1a) (step S2). The radio communication device (2) periodically counts up the system timer value (2a) (step S3). The radio communication device (2) transmits an authentication request command (3) including a system timer value (3a) (step S4). The radio communication authentication device (1) compares the system timer value (3a) contained in the authentication request command (3) with the system timer value (1a) of the parent station upon reception (step S6). And the radio communication authentication device (1) judges the passing status of authentication of the radio communication device (2) according to the comparison result.
