PURPOSE: To provide a MgO hydration preventing device for preventing hydration from being generated on side surface portions of the MgO coated coil coated in a process of naturally cooling the coil in the atmosphere for a long time after performing decarburization on a grain-oriented magnetic coil and coating an annealing separator on the decarburized coil. CONSTITUTION: The device for preventing hydration of MgO on a grain-oriented magnetic coil comprises guide rails(10) vertically installed at both front sides of the coil(100) put on a skid; moving members(11) moved along the guide rails and selectively closely adhered to the inner surface of both ends of the coil if it is necessary; a driving means for lifting and lowering the moving members; an airtightness means installed on the inner surface of the moving members to maintain airtightness with both front parts of the coil; and a gas supply means extended to the inner surface of the moving members to supply a gas for hydration reduction to both ends of the coil, wherein the airtightness means comprises a circular insertion groove(20) formed on the inner surface of the moving members in a size corresponding to a side front part of the coil, an air tube(21) installed along the outer circumferential surface of the insertion groove, and an air hose(22) connected to a lower part of the air tube to expand the air tube by supplying air into the air tube.
