PAPER GUIDE UNIT AND AN IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS HAVING THE SAME CAPABLE OF MAINTAINING A CONSTANT FRICTION FORCE

PURPOSE: A paper guide unit and an image forming apparatus having the same are provided to maintain a constant friction force when controlling the width of a paper guide. CONSTITUTION: The first rack(21) is combined with one of paper guides and has the first gear portion(23). The second rack(25) is combined with another one of paper guides and has the second and third gear portions(27,29). The first pinion(31) is rotatably combined with a support plate(11) and interconnected to the first and second racks by engaging with the first and second gear portions. The second pinion(35) engages with the third gear portion. An end of a connecting member(40) is rotatably combined with the second pinion and the other end of the connecting member is rotatably combined with the support plate. An elastic member is supported by the support plate and provides an elastic force so that the second pinion is pressured toward the second rack.
