<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a porous metal catalyst to be used in a reformer for reforming a hydrocarbon gas such as natural gas, methanol, coal gas into a hydrogen-enriched, carbon-monoxide-enriched gas by a steam reforming method, particularly, a porous metal catalyst to be used for a reformer for a fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: This porous metal catalyst is made by forming a catalyst layer 21 comprising a porous ceramic layer carrying a catalyst powder 3 on the surface of a porous metal catalyst carrier 1 having a three-dimensional reticular structure. The catalyst layer 21 fixes and carries the catalyst powder 3 on the outermost surface of the porous ceramic layer and the internal surface of a ceramic pore 5. Further, a composite ceramic powder 9 formed by coating the ceramic powder 4 with the catalyst powder 3 is fixed and carried on the surface of the skeleton of the porous metal carrier 1 having the three dimensional reticular structure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
