<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk drive capable of correcting the spherical aberration and coma aberration by effectively suppressing the jitters of an RF signal waveform. <P>SOLUTION: This optical disk drive is provided with an optical pickup for irradiating an optical disk with a laser beam, detecting a reflected light from the optical disk and outputting a reproducing signal, an RF signal generation part for generating an RF signal from the reproduced signal, an A/D converter for fetching the RF signals with predetermined sampling intervals and converting the RF signals into digital RF, a waveform generation part for grouping the RF data for plural cycles and generating an eye pattern waveform by putting together the grouped RF data, a storage part for storing the eye pattern waveform, an eye part extraction part for extracting the eye pattern area from the eye pattern waveform, a control amount calculation part for generating a control signal to correct the wave surface aberration based on the shape of the eye pattern area, and an aberration correction part for driving the aberration control mechanism of the optical pickup by the control signal and correcting the wave surface aberration of a laser beam. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
