NETWORK-BASED HIERARCHICAL EMULATION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network-based hierarchical emulation system.

SOLUTION: The system has a computer and a resource board including an emulation resource adapting to an emulation portion of a device to be measured. The respective resource boards have a transaction device for mutual communications and communications with a computer network by a data packet transmitted via a packet routing network. The packet routing network and transaction device provide "virtual signal path" between input and output of the resource on the individual resource boards. In order to carry out this, the transaction device on one of the resource boards transmits a packet including data indicating the state of a local resource output signal to the transaction devices on the other resource boards to make the signal supplied to an input terminal of the resource into a state designated by the data transferred by the packet.
