PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply uniform load to a ring from the outer periphery thereof and to facilitate the positioning of ring and a mounted body. SOLUTION: This ring compressor includes: two or more pressing members 2 radially mounted with the tips thereof toward the central axis O of a base 1, the tips being moved forward and backward to the central axis O on a predetermined plane; a turning body 3 mounted on the base 1 to rotate round the central axis O; and driven means 25, 32 forwarding the tip of each pressing member 2 toward the central axis O with the rotation of the turning body 3 so that load is applied from the outside of the ring by the tips of the pressing members 2. Thus, the load is applied from the outside of the ring by the forwarding tips. The compressor is further provided with latching means 16, 26 for holding the ring with respect to the tips.
