PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability in an apparatus by securing reproducibility in mounting by realizing the stable propagation of elastic waves. SOLUTION: A liquid level detector comprises first and second rod members 11, 13 mounted to each specified position on the wall of a container 1 for accommodating liquid; and an ultrasonic oscillation element 12 and an ultrasonic reception element 14 clamped to the first and second rod members 11, 13 by screws. Elastic waves that are generated by the ultrasonic oscillation element 12 and are propagated on the wall of a container 1 are received by the ultrasonic reception element 14 to detect a liquid level position in the container 1. Then, the contact section between the respective rods 11, 13 and respective ultrasonic elements 12, 14 is composed only of a screw section, and the grade of the screw section is composed of the screw of JIS standard 6g and 6H or higher.
