PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in a conventional horizontally-suspended clamp wherein a clamp left on the ground is dragged on the ground, moved, and then lifted up when it is hoisted by a wire, hence a steel material is caught in an opening of the clamp while moving on the ground, and, when it is hoisted in this state, the steel material removes from the clamp on the way, falls, and hits a worker working near it to cause a big accident. SOLUTION: Even if the horizontally suspended clamp body 1 is dragged on the ground when this horizontally suspended clamp is hoisted by the wire B1, a blocking member 3 blocks the opening 11 of the body 1. When a force for hoisting the body 1 with the wire B1 acts, the blocking of the opening 11 by the blocking member 3 is released. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
