PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing the strain of a compression-molded preform for blow molding, capable of removing the strain of the preform caused in a compression molding process before a blow molding process, and an apparatus therefor. SOLUTION: The preform 1 is heated by a burner 16 so that the surface temperature thereof becomes 200-250°C and the heating time thereof becomes 0.1-1.0 sec while rotated around its center axis. By this method, the strain inside the surface of the preform can be removed without bringing about deformation or the like by heating the preform to a high temperature as a whole.
