PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a leading edge cap which is securely fixed at a leading edge part of an endoscope and can be easily detached by one hand. SOLUTION: The leading edge cap 150 which can be attached to and detached from a main body of the leading edge part of the endoscope includes a locking section 152 which is formed to project inwardly from an inner peripheral surface of a proximal end part of the leading edge cap 150 and can be engaged to a locking channel formed on an outer peripheral surface of the main body of the leading edge part, a reinforcement member 156 which is disposed in the locking section 152 and formed with a harder material than the leading edge cap 150, and a notch section 158 which is disposed on at least one part of the locking section 152 and can be engaged to a convex part disposed on at least one part of the locking channel.
