<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support member, particularly a powder metallurgy thermal treatment tray capable of effectively preventing a metallic compact from being carburized during a high temperature thermal treatment without any stripping-off of a coating layer like in the case of a ceramic coating. <P>SOLUTION: The high temperature heated metallic compact support member comprising a carbon-ceramic composite compact in which 3-20 wt.% ceramic particles are uniformly dispersed in a carbonaceous material so that a part of the ceramic particles is exposed on the surface by press-molding a dispersed mixture of a fine carbon precursor and the ceramic particles and carbonizing the carbon precursor at 1,000-2,000°C and having 1.2-1.6 g/mL bulk density is manufactured. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
