PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling an air conditioner for stopping operation of a compressor to prevent failure of a heat generating part cooled by an outdoor blow fan by detecting outlet part temperature of an outdoor heat exchanger, outside air temperature, and valve opening of an expansion valve, and detecting abnormality in the outdoor blow fan based on these detection values. SOLUTION: Temperature differenceΔT between the outlet part temperature Tc of the outdoor heat exchanger and the outside air temperature Ta, the valve opening P of the expansion valve, and set temperature tables storing preset outlet part temperature of the outdoor heat exchanger for each zone of a plurality of temperature difference zones and valve opening zones grouping the temperature differenceΔT and the valve opening P are provided.
