PURPOSE: Provided is an electrolyte for a lithium secondary battery, which provides a lithium secondary battery with excellent safety and cycle characteristics by using an additive for controlling overcharge. CONSTITUTION: The electrolyte for a lithium secondary battery comprises: an additive for controlling overcharge comprising the dehydration product of the compound represented by the following formula 1 with the compound represented by the following formula 2; a lithium salt; and a non-aqueous organic solvent. In formulae 1 and 2, each of R1, R2 and R3 is independently selected from the group consisting of H, CH3, C2H5, CH=CH2, CH=CHCH3 and a functional group containing N, P or S. The additive for controlling overcharge is used in an amount of 0.1-20 wt% based on the total weight of the electrolyte. |
