METHOD FOR TESTING LIP-SYNC OF A DTV AND AN APPARATUS THEREOF BY USING TIME INDEXED AUDIO AND VIDEO SIGNALS

PURPOSE: A method for testing lip-SYNC(SYNChronization) of a DTV(Digital Television) and an apparatus thereof are provided to test the lip-SYNC of the DTV by using time indexed audio and video signals. CONSTITUTION: An audio time calculation member(11) discriminates a corresponding audio frame number by detecting a time index signal included to an audio signal and calculates a corresponding audio frame time(ta) from the audio frame number. A video time calculation member(12) discriminates a corresponding video field number by detecting a time index signal included to a video signal and calculates a corresponding video field time(tv) from the video field number. A measuring member(13) measures the time difference between the audio and video signals. A lip-SYNC discriminating member(14) discriminates a lip-SYNC time(dt) by using the measured time difference between the audio and video signals and the calculated corresponding audio frame time and video field time.
