PURPOSE: A heat generating device for solid fossil fuel is provided to increase the storage amount of the solid fossil fuel, to burn the fuel gradually without frequently supplementing the fuel, and to supply different heating values by regulating the flow of the air or the position of an air circulating pipe assembly. CONSTITUTION: A heat generating device for solid fossil fuel is composed of a fuel tank(10) for storing the solid fossil fuel; a funnel(40) installed through the center of the fuel tank to induce the flow of the air demanded for burning the solid fossil fuel and to exhaust smoke generated in burning the fuel; a burning plate(50) mounted in the lower end of the fuel tank to burn the fuel contained in the fuel tank; and an air circulating pipe assembly(20) connected with the upper end of the funnel and the lower end of the fuel tank to induce the flow of the air to burn only the fuel adjacent to the upper surface of the burning plate.
