PURPOSE: An emergency braking device while traveling a crane is provided to prevent the crane from being bumped into the surrounding equipments, and to restrict damage of materials and products by stopping the crane with inertia of travel in cutting off power. CONSTITUTION: An emergency braking device is composed of a gear locking unit(10) having a cylindrical member(9) mounted to a travel driving shaft(5) connecting a decelerator to a travel wheel, a latch(15) combined with a gear unit, a pulling cylinder(17) separating the latch from the gear unit and a spring(20) combining the latch with the gear unit and braking first in cutting off power, and a drum braking unit(50) having a brake shoe combined with a drum part of the cylindrical member and a chain(55) pulling the brake shoe and braking secondarily by pulling and winding the chain on a chain winding unit(60) with operation of the latch of the gear locking unit.
