PROTEIN ASSOCIATED WITH CONTROLLING FORMING THE ROOT HAIR OF PLANT, AND GENE ENCODING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gene causing changing the growth or shape of the root hair of a plant in response to the environmental change of the root of the plant, and to provide a promoter for the gene, thus to control the formation of the root hair in response to the environmental change.

SOLUTION: A protein having a specific amino acid sequence or an amino acid sequence wherein one or more amino acids are deleted, substituted, modified or added in the above amino acid sequence is provided. This protein has the action of controlling the growth and/or its direction of the root hair of a plant. The gene encodes this protein. A regulator or the like comprising the protein is provided, regulating the growth and/or its direction of the root hair. A variant plant wherein at least part of the gene is deleted is also provided.
