AIR CONDITIONER AND CONTROL METHOD OF AIR CONDITIONER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner and a control method of the air conditioner capable of avoiding discharging refrigerant pressure of a compressor from rising to a pressure causing stop of the compressor and securing air conditioning properties. SOLUTION: For enabling each indoor unit to perform cooling operation or a heating operation, this air conditioner is structured by an outdoor unit 1 having a first compressor 3a directly connected to a gas engine 30 and a second compressor 3b connected to and disconnected from the gas engine 30 via a clutch 31 and an outdoor heat exchanger 4 and indoor units 2a, 2b having indoor heat exchangers 6a, 6b connected with a pipe 10 for connecting the units. The air conditioner has a control unit 40 for limiting rotation number of the gas engine 30 to be equal to or less than a predetermined rotation number r0 and switching off the clutch 31 in the case that the clutch 31 is in an on-state at the time that the outdoor heat exchanger 4 functioning as a condenser is made to function as an evaporator.
