PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a polybutylene terephthalate film which excels in transparency, resistance to hydrolysis, thermal stability and moldability, and furthermore reduces foreign substances, and can be suitably used as a packaging material for food products, aqueous infusions, industrial articles, and the like. SOLUTION: The film is composed of the polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) containing titanium in an amount of≤33 ppm as a titanium atom. A preferred PBT has a lowering crystallization temperature of 170-190°C, an intrinsic viscosity of 0.60-2.00 dL/g, a terminal carboxyl group concentration of 1-45μeq/g, and a number of foreign substances having a size of≥5μm of≤50/10 g polymer.
