PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize accurate autofocus by reducing the detection errors of a sensor array caused by the influence of a gap between sensors. SOLUTION: The projection display device is equipped with a projection lens to project an image to a projection surface, the sensor array to receive the image of an object to be detected on the projected image and detect the light intensity distribution of the received image, and an autofocus means to focus the projection lens on the basis of the light intensity distribution detected by the sensor array.
