PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To materializes adjustment to a prescribed clamping axial tension concurrently with detection of clamping axial tension of a bolt, and allow detection and adjustment of the clamping axial tension of the bolt even on a side surface on which a plate spring is mounted. SOLUTION: In the friction damper device, a friction sliding plate 1 coupled to a member of a structure and clamped metal plates 2, 3 holding the friction sliding plate 1 therebetween are clamped with a bolt 6 passing through holes of respective plates and nut 7 threadedly engaged with the bolt 6. By so doing, the friction surfaces between the friction sliding plate 1 and the clamped metal plates 2, 3 are pressurized through the medium of a plate spring 8. The device is equipped with an outer peripheral ring 13 which can rotate with the nut retained on an inside wall, and with a load cell 14 and a bolt fixture 15 successively provided on the outer peripheral ring 13.
