PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform stable optical scanning with an optical scanner in which the mirror substrate of an oscillation mirror is reciprocatively oscillatably supported by a beam by minimizing the variation in the oscillation angle of the mirror substrate even when the resonance frequency of the oscillation mirror varies due to the variation in ambient tempertature or the like. SOLUTION: In the optical scanner, the oscillation mirror is used of which the mirror substrate 101 is reciprocally oscillatably supported by the beam and driving electrodes 107 and 108 are provided at the positions opposite to movable electrodes 105 and 106 formed on the free ends of the mirror substrate 101. The driving pulse period applied to the driving electrodes 107 and 108 by a driving circuit 210 is set at a period which is out of the resonance frequency in the resonance frequency band of the oscillation mirror so that the mirror substrate oscillates at a frequency higher than the resonance frequency.
