PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an obstacle detector capable of maintaining the intensity of a reception signal to be a substantially constant value, enhancing the detection accuracy of an obstacle by eliminating a part in which the reception signal gets extremely large or small, and simplifying signal processing. SOLUTION: In the obstacle detector in which a pair of leakage transmission passage groups comprising a plurality of leakage transmission passages are installed so as to face the inside of a free space, and an obstacle is detected by radiating radio waves from one leakage transmission passage group to the other, connection points of the leakage transmission passages in one leakage transmission passage group are positionally deviated from those of the other leakage transmission passage group.
