PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To output image data of an original by properly distributing the data into a plurality of paper sheets. SOLUTION: At first a user operates an operation display unit and indicates page division designation (S11). Then an original image is read and the original image data are generated (S12). Existence of page division designation is determined with respect to the original image data. When the indication of the page division designation exists (S13;Y), a division number is calculated so as to secure the memory area of the number of pages corresponding to the division number (S14). A parameter required for a processing is extracted from page division designation information and set in an editing apparatus (S15), and then, DMA is started (S16). The division image data generated by division are stored in HDD (S17), and image management data are generated (S18). Existence of succeeding page division designation is determined with respect to the original image data (S19). When page division designation indication does not exist (S19;N), existence of a succeeding original is determined.
