PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high frequency amplifier having a desired amplification characteristic by compensating dispersion in characteristics at manufacturing amplifier elements and capable of being downsized and highly integrated. SOLUTION: A variable capacitance element 8 is connected between the ground and a drain bias application terminal 7 of a tip short-circuit stub 3 and the electric length of the tip short-circuit stub 3 is changed by adjusting the capacitance of the variable capacitance element 8 with a drain bias voltage. Then the output impedance of the high frequency transistor 1 is matched together with a matching circuit 2 and the tip short-circuit stub 3 to obtain a desired amplification characteristic.
