PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable off-line recognition treatment to be efficiently performed even when a treatment mode using no video coding system (VCS) or a dividing machine with which no VCS is connected is used. SOLUTION: An image buffer and an off-line OCR are installed in a dividing machine main body. When division information cannot be recognized by on-line recognition treatment by an on-line OCR, off-line recognition treatment by the off-line OCR is performed to an image of a paper sheet stored in the image buffer.
