The electrical in line connector consists of a plug [3] and a socket [1]. A projection [2] form on the plug is engaged by an arm [1] of the socket and so provides correct internal connection. The space between the latching arm and the plug body forms a capacitor that when used as part of a HF oscillator provides a sensing function.
