The cutting tool (1) with a blade (2) and counter-cutter (3) pivoted about a transverse axis (4) and having shanks (5) with intermediate elements (6) fitted in tubular handles (7), has each shank made with a width greater than its thickness, and the intermediate elements overmoulded onto the shanks from a plastic material. Each shank and intermediate element has at least two holes (8) through it for fixings (9) holding it in a handle.
