PURPOSE: A sound regenerator unifying an audio port with a USB(Universal Serial Bus) port and a signal processing method using the sound regenerator are provided to automatically select one of an audio mode and a communication mode according to a change in an impedance level value when an audio jack or a USB jack is inserted into a unified port. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a unified port(100), an audio signal switching member(110), an audio amplifier(130), and a USB signal processor(120). The unified port(100) provides a signal path for transmitting audio signals or data signals via a coupled audio jack or USB jack. The audio signal switching member(110) automatically sets an audio mode or a USB communication mode according as the audio jack or the USB jack is coupled with the unified port(100). The audio amplifier(130) processes the audio signals when the audio jack is coupled with the unified port(100). The USB signal processor(120) performs a data communication when the USB jack is coupled with the unified port(100).
