<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a scanning object by comparison of distance. <P>SOLUTION: The distance D<SB>A</SB>from a vehicle position to a detecting object BLD in every direction of 360°is calculated in reference to three-dimensional map information, and the presence area of the detecting object is specified by the distance D<SB>A</SB>.
