<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a scanning object by comparison of distance. <P>SOLUTION: The distance D<SB>A</SB>from a vehicle position to a detecting object BLD in every direction of 360°is calculated in reference to three-dimensional map information, and the presence area of the detecting object is specified by the distance D<SB>A</SB>. The distance D<SB>B</SB>to objects BLD and OBL in every direction is measured at the time of traveling, and when D<SB>B</SB>is smaller than D<SB>A</SB>, the presence of an object on a road around the vehicle is recognized, and the recognition result is outputted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
