PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejector and a liquid ejecting method ensuring high image quality printing while shortening the printing time. SOLUTION: One or more ink liquid drops i ejected from nozzles 44a arranged side by side in the direction intersecting the traveling direction of a recording sheet P substantially perpendicularly by driving one or more heating elements provided in a head chip 27 at different timings touch at least a reference line partially and form an ink dot 51 shifted from the reference line L in the traveling direction of the recording sheet P or in the reverse direction.
