PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably position a mold without adjusting a crane descending speed when the mold is inserted between the fixed side platen and movable side platen of an injection molding machine by setting energy absorbing members such as shock absorbers on the mold installation surfaces of positioning block members installed in the lower parts of the fixed side platen and movable side platen of the injection molding machine. SOLUTION: In a mold positioning device, when the mold is inserted between the fixed side platen and movable side platen of the injection molding machine, the lower part of the mold is contacted with the positioning block members installed in the lower parts of the fixed side platen and movable side platen of the injection molding machine, and the mold is positioned at a prescribed position between the platens of the injection molding machine.
