PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device for the picture frames which can fix sorts of plate-shaped exhibits with different thickness on exhibit retaining parts along the opening rim on the rear side of the body of the picture frame with a simple operation. SOLUTION: The fixing device comprises a plate-shaped rail 1 detachably mounted on the inside of the opening rim on the rear side of a picture frame material 20, sliders 2 made slidable being guided with guide parts 5 and 5 respectively on both sides of the plate-shaped rail 1 and levers 4 which are pivoted respectively on the sliders 2 to be held either at the position of being pulled up or at the position of being pulled down with manual operations. The surface of the plate-shaped rail 1 is formed into a corrugated plate part 6 where a number of retaining protruded ridges 6a are arranged extending in the direction orthogonal to the guide parts 5 and 5 while the lever 4 is provided with ribs 14 which block the sliding of the sliders 2 being engaged with the retaining protruded threads 6a of the corrugated plate part 6 when the lever is held at the position of being pulled down.
