<p>The parent patent describes making "satin white" (hydrated Ca/Al sulphate) in a fluid form by mixing, with stirring, milk of lime and aq. Al sulphate soln., and then adding at least one sequestrant or precipitant and a fluid-forming agent, followed by straining the slurry in known manner. In this patent of addition fluid "satin white" is used as suspension medium for conventional pigments in papermaking and pref. contains as dispersant hydroxy carboxylic and/or polycarboxylic acids. The pH of the suspensions being adjusted to 10-12 by addn. of alkali.</p> |
