A float tank is connected to a compressed gas reservoir so that gas can be supplied to it in order to maintain the float at a constant level in the water. A float for supporting lines (4) used to grow e.g. mussels (5) comprises a float tank housed inside a float body (1A, 1B). The tank is in communication with an opening which is located below the water surface (2) during use of the float. The tank contains a reservoir for a compressed gas that has a lower density than water under normal atmospheric conditions. A control device in the tank is used to supply gas to it from the reservoir, depending on the level of the float body in the water. |
