PURPOSE: A game execution method using an open cable set-top box is provided to have an interface for a POD(Point Of Deployment) module and to execute a game program stored to a PCMCIA module when inserting the PCMCIA module into the interface. CONSTITUTION: Kinds of modules inserted to an interface of the open cable set-top box are discriminated. When the inserted module is a PCMCIA module, the module interface of the open cable set-top box is converted into the PCMCIA module interface(S50). The version of the game program stored to the PCMCIA module is discriminated(S70). When the game program is not the latest version, the latest version game program is downloaded and stored to the PCMCIA module(S80,S90). The game program stored to the PCMCIA module is executed(S110).
