PURPOSE: A heat pump capable of non-frost continuous operation is provided to increase heating operation hours and prevent lowering of a temperature of air discharged to a room by preventing closing of a passage due to frost. CONSTITUTION: A heat pump type cooling and heating apparatus includes an outdoor fan and a heat exchanger at an outdoor unit. The heat exchanger includes a defrosting device melting frost. The defrosting device includes a defrosting solution distributor(12), a defrosting solution(13), a pump(14) for circulation, a defrosting solution separator(15), a mixed solution storage device, a defrosting solution heating device(16) and a heater(17). Frost generated on surfaces of fins of the heat exchanger is effectively melted by the defrosting solution of high temperature supplied by the defrosting solution distributor, thereby preventing closing of a passage between the fins.
