摘要 |
PURPOSE: A semiconductor storage device for reducing current consumption in standby mode is provided to reduce current consumption in a standby mode by not generating an internal clock signal when there's no refresh request. CONSTITUTION: A semiconductor storage device for doing a read/write operation in a normal mode and stopping the read/write operation in a standby mode, comprises a memory cell array(5) for storing data which are refreshed to hold the stored data; a clock input buffer(10) for generating an internal clock signal and stopping the generation of the internal clock signal when there's no memory refresh request in the standby mode; a refresh timer(1) for generating the refresh request signal at a regular period in response to the request of the memory cell array; a refresh operation part for refreshing the memory cell array synchronizing with the internal clock signal when the refresh signal is inputted in the standby mode. Wherein the clock input buffer generates the internal clock signal based on an external clock signal from the outside.
