SURFACE MOUNT INDUCTOR CAPABLE OF PREVENTING BINDING TERMINAL FROM BEING EASILY BROKEN

PURPOSE: A surface mount inductor is provided to prevent a binding terminal from being easily broken, and a terminal of a coil from being easily cut by the edge of the binding terminal. CONSTITUTION: A surface mount inductor(1) comprises a drum type core(2); a coil(3) wound on a winding shaft(21) of the drum type core; a case body made of a non-conductive member and disposed around the coil; a binding terminal(13) fixed at the case body and protruded outward from the case body such that a terminal of the coil is bound at the binding terminal; and a metal terminal member(5) including a plane terminal(11) serving as a contact portion contacting a substrate when the inductor is surface mounted on the substrate. The inductor further includes an extended portion(6) extended outward from the case body and disposed in the position superimposed with the binding terminal in the height direction of the drum type core. The extended portion has a width larger than or approximately equal to that of the binding terminal. The terminal of the coil is wound from outer surfaces of the binding terminal and the extended portion.
